Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the medical branch of Chinese culture that traditionally includes acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, massage therapy and other forms of physical medicine, and Qigong. At Kun Ji Acupuncture, we strive to provide you with the best techniques and knowledge derived from thousands of years of experience. For a list of medical conditions that Acupuncture has been proven to treat, visit the National Institute of Health (NIH). Acupuncture focuses on directing the energy (or qi) in your body as a regulatory force and thereby restores the balance between the various parts of your body.
One of the reasons that Acupuncture and TCM work so well is that the practitioner treats the person, not the disease/condition. We look at the symptoms as they manifest in you individually, and diagnose/treat you accordingly. Humans are unique, each with our own lifestyles, psyche, routines, etc. This means the same condition in different individuals many manifest differently, while different conditions in different individuals may manifest in the same way. A skilled practitioner is a detective collecting clues, along with testimony, and like Sherlock Holmes, we can arrive at the "ah ha!" moment together.
Note: Please always remember to consult your primary physician first about your condition or any medical emergencies.

What to expect on your visit
On your first visit, we will spend time to talk in detail about your health information and history, address any questions you have, and discuss your health goals. You will need to sign consent and privacy forms. After the treatment, we will form a treatment plan designed for you, usually weekly or biweekly appointments for 3-6 months, as well as other recommendations (nutrition, lifestyle, herbal, etc.). On subsequent follow-up visits, we will mainly focus on treating your chief complaint. The first visit will be about 90 minutes and follow-up visits will be around 60 minutes.
Please eat before your visits.
Please wear loose fitting clothing.
Please bring list of recent labs or medication/supplements with you.
At any point, if you have any concerns or if there are changes to your health condition or goals, please let us know. Your healing is a journey that practitioner and patient must take together. We are grateful that you chose to walk this path with us.
Payment, insurance, and cancellation/no-show
Payment is due at time of treatment. As a courtesy to the practitioner and other patients, please try to cancel at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise you may be charged a no-show/cancellation fee. Cash, check, and credit cards (including FSA/HSA cards) are accepted. Sze is currently not accepting insurance. If your insurance accepts Out of Network practitioner claims, Sze is happy to provide a superbill for you to submit. You are responsible for checking your insurance’s coverage.
